BABOOM II
Armchair
This armchair is characterized by a voluptuous surface that gives style to the object, but also stiffness.
The goal was to design a big but easy armchair. Big in the sense of voluptuous, important, an ideal object for a contract market: offices, hotels, bars, receptions, … and easy in many ways: easy to produce, to ship, to clean, to use. For these reasons the chair is thought of as a monolithic surface, that swells and folds to generate all the parts like the backrest, seat, and legs. Only a surface with "homogeneous differentiation", that plays with void and mass. Working with a single surface gives also a lightness to the chair, and this makes it easy to handle.
